Description
Excerpt from 'Another Silva? MJPOP Facing Violences Against Youths' by Reinaldo Almeida -
"Two mornings, two young people and two stories of human rights violations
by state agents. The same city, the same skin color: the reality of
youth struggling to survive amid brutal extermination of young blacks in
Brazil.
Sunday Morning, 2001, an adolescent goes back to his home after Sunday
worship in a neighborhood on the outskirts, when he is violently approached
by police trying to incriminate him and it keeps him hostage for two
hours.
Saturday Morning, 2014: a 21-years-old young person is at home when arrested
by the Military Police accused of robbery with attempted murder.
Accusation without foundation, since he was in his work at the time of the
crime.
On Sunday April 27, 2014, the fates of these two victims crossed forever."
