18:46 Nov 8 2014 Malawi

Description
In Malawi a project by World Vision and the Tilitonse Fund advocates for children, especially for the girls who dropped out of school due to early marriages and pregnancies, encouraging them to go back and complete their education.

One of these girls is 37-year old Dorice Nthozi who first started out as a volunteer for the project, advocating for the education of children, and then became a beneficiary.

This is an excerpt:
"At 37 years old divorced and with four children Dorice Nthozi, has not let her circumstances keep her from her dream of earning a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE). Although she has spent the last 18 years of her life outside of school and in a bad marriage she is determined to pick up the pieces. In 2013, she made the bold decision to enroll at Lisale Community Day Secondary School in Sanga Nkhatabay enduring ridicule from many people in the Village.

Her dream is to one day become a school teacher at the school that she went to before dropping out to get married when she fell pregnant with her first child almost 20 years ago."
